About Us
The World of health was established in Lanarkshire, in 2000 by Eileen Burns.
The business was developed from her strong interest in self development and
complementary therapies developed from living with m.e. , which left her
housebound for a large part of her twenties. Since then she has found her niche
teaching personal development skills including stress management and holistic
therapies to all ages and abilities in local organisations, schools and projects in
lanarkshire including the NHS, Princess Royal Carers Trust Lanarkshire,
Motherwell College....
She began her reiki study initially attuned by International Reiki Master-
Mari Hall in 1992 after several years of benefiting from Reiki herself. At this point
she began studying stress management, psychology and self development through
distant learning and her own research, this eventually to degree level course units.
She is now an advanced stress adviser /coach qualified through Caledonian University and
Stress education Services. And is now presently working towards a Bsc Degree in Health
& Lifestyle.
Other than a Usui Reiki Master she is qualified in various complementary therapies,
self development and relaxation therapy including a certificative in visualisation for
therapeutic healing. She is fully disclosed and has various experience and qualifications
working with young people and teenagers. Eileen has been providing stress management
for schools and organisations for 7 years. She teaches meditation, stress
busting for exams, relaxation techniques, therapies and comsetic makingfrom 2 +.
She provides weekly therapy sessions for young adults for SHIP at Shotts Healthy
Living Project. She provides in-house workshops for unemployed, addiction groups,
carers, lone parents...........Her self development courses include Assertiveness,
Confidence Building to Managing Stress and Image on a Budget.
Her therapy and taster workshops include Aromatherapy & Essential Oils which she
has over 10 years teaching, Colour Therapy and Colour for Image, Flower Essence
Therapies, Indian Head Massage, Meditation, Relaxation Therapy and Stress
Management......
Eileen provides qualified and professional therapists for events, on-site therapies,
and taster sessions. They include beauticians, on-site massage, reflexology, IHM.....
